Cap and Trade

I don’t even know where to begin. It seems Nancy Pelosi “struck a deal” with Collin Peterson,(D-MN) chairman of the Agricultural Committee (WHY do we have an Agricultural Committee??), to get this behemoth passed. Apparently rural co-ops will benefit greatly. A rural co-op is another name for “electric company”.

This scam of a program, is nothing more than an enormous tax hike. Think of all of the things that are powered by electricity; here is my list, some will be obvious, others not so much:

  • Homes.
  • Businesses.
  • Food Processing.
  • Manufacturing-you thought government owned the car companies now, just wait.
  • Refineries-not just petroleum mind you; sugar and metals to name two more.
  • Gas Pumps-how did you think it got in there?
  • Farming

These are just a few of the areas that I could think of off the top of my head. In reality, anything that’s manufactured, shipped, or grown will be slapped with this ridiculous tax, which you will not actually “see” on a receipt, as it will be buried in the details of life. And, let’s not forget that in January of 2008 then Senator Obama said that “Electricity Rates Would Necessarily Skyrocket” under his “Cap and Trade” plan.

This is nothing more that a giant power grab for the federal government; nothing more than a fascist takeover of our society. There will be nothing that the government won’t be involved in. Nothing. The bill is over 1200 PAGES long, they are adding anything and everything they can think of.

The battle cry is getting weary, you’re hearing the same things again and again:”Write and call your Senators”, “Write and call your Congressmen”. This is a great weapon, but it feels ineffective; they aren’t listening, they don’t care. The smell of blood is too great, they are like crazed animals; power and blood lust driving their decisions.

The audacity(maybe it’s just me, but that word has special meaning ;) ), of thinking that we can legislate and manage acts of God is beyond arrogant. The idea that cow flatulence is anything but NORMAL is crazy. The idea that we can control the climate is so blatantly idiotic that I feel like laughing hysterically; trouble is, it’s not really funny, and I would be locked away with the crazy people in the state hospital.

This stems from the Secular Humanist movement. “There is no God, only Man”; with this mentality, the enviromental wackos seem to believe that man is in charge of everything, and therefore can change everything. As a person of Faith, I reject this notion; I believe the vast majority of Americans do as well, because contrary to what the idiot in chief says, we ARE a nation of Judeo-Christian people, with Judeo-Christian values. We believe that a Higher Power IS in charge, and has not left the building.

There is no way that this legislation will do anything; not one thing for the environment, but it will be devastating to our economy, and our individual pocketbooks.

By all means call your representatives, but be prepared for the worst; I believe it’s going to get ugly-uglier than it already is.

Not My President?

I’ve been giving a lot of thought since the election to the phrase : “He’s my President, and I will support him.”

I did not vote for this man, nor do I feel his plans and policies are right for America. I don’t feel like he even cares what “middle America” needs or wants. This man has an agenda: the overthrow of our good and peaceful country; our way of life. Whether he is doing this of his own volition or whether he is a puppet is for another post. What bothers me is that people, Republicans, are claiming him as “their president.”

Why? Does he share any values with them? With you and I?
Here is a little quiz I gave myself:

  • Does he share your philosophy of life; your world view?
  • Does he share your philosophy of government?
  • Does he share your philosophy of the markets?
  • Does he share your philosophy of personal responsibility?
  • Does he share your philosophy on taxes?
  • Does he share your philosophy on immigration?
  • Does he share your philosophy on national security?
  • Does he share your philosophy on abortion?
  • Does he share your philosophy on America’s sovereignty?
  • Does he share your philosophy on educating your children?
  • Does he share your philosophy on how children should be raised?

The answer is “No.” To all of them. Each one, “Nope.”
He doesn’t share my philosophy on any of those points. Morally and philosophically, I can’t claim him as “my president.”
He is the president of my country however, and I would defend him with my life if I had to–not that I will EVER be near the man, I think I would have to leave town if he came here :P
That’s the only thing I can think of in support of this president;  that I would defend his right to BE the president, by virtue of his being elected in a free election.
Other than that, I can’t support the agenda of a man who’s worldview is so contrary to my own beliefs, right down to the very core of my soul.

I think people, particularly conservative politicians are trying to be magnanimous; trying to allay our fears, and keep the general calm. They need to STOP this behavior. Stop trying to make us all feel better with this socialist/Marxist in the White House. IT’S NOT OK! Things are spiraling downward at an alarming rate, and it’s only been about 100 days! I repeat, IT’S NOT OK! Our conservative leaders in Washington need to stop playing nice, and start speaking out. Start giving us a rope to grab.
God bless this man to be safe in the service of our country, but more importantly, God Bless America to be safe despite this man.
